The Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is the product of Masi's unrivalled expertise in the appassimento technique, whereby traditional grapes of the Valpolicella Classico area - Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara - are laid out on bamboo racks to concentrate their aromas during the winter months. Majestic, complex and exuberant the Costasera Amarone Classico is Masi's gentle giant. A blend of Corvina (70%), Rondinella (25%) and Molinara (5%) grapes grown on slopes overlooking Lake Garda this is a benchmark Amarone wine, which, alongside the iconic wines of Barolo and Brunello, makes up the aristocracy of the Italian wine world. Very dark ruby red in colour the wine displays baked fruit, plums and cherry aromas. The palate is very well balanced with fruity tastes and hints of coffee and cocoa. A perfect after dinner red wine, or to go with red meat, game, quails and richly flavoured dishes.
